Heathfield Academy was visited by Ofsted last half term – the school’s first inspection since opening in September 2015.
We are delighted that Heathfield received a judgement of ‘Outstanding’ in all areas. The strength of Heathfield’s relationship with parents/carers was a significant factor in the overall judgement: “All of the parents who completed the Ofsted survey would recommend the school to others.”
The exceptional leadership of Mrs Atkinson and Mr Glover being rightly praised: “Leaders, governors and trustees have been highly effective in ensuring that the quality of teaching is exemplary. Pupils, therefore, make excellent progress across the curriculum.”
It is pleasing too that Ofsted recognised the impact of STEP Academy Trust’s “one team” ethos: “The support for schools within the trust has been pivotal in ensuring the success of this school and supporting its ongoing growth. Working together as one team across the whole trust creates an environment where people learn from each other and grow together.”
As a growing school, Heathfield is still in its early days and this report demonstrates the tremendous achievements of the children and the powerful partnership between the parents, local authority and Trust.
