Some of our key benefits

Career Pathways Framework

At STEP Academy Trust, we are committed to improving the life chances of all children. However we understand that in order to truly achieve this mission, colleagues must be provided with high quality continuous professional development to support them in becoming expert practitioners and empowered leaders. Our Career Pathways map has been developed to show our commitment to staff, irrespective of your career stage providing potential pathways for both your continuous professional development and leadership opportunities.

Training and development opportunities

We offer opportunities for training and development for all our staff, whether that is through external certification courses or internal development or training days.

Teaching School Hub

Our Teaching School Hub provides high quality development opportunities to teachers and leaders. Our expert team of teacher educators is committed to this work, and passionately believes that teacher development is the best and most sustainable way to drive up standards in our schools and ultimately improve the educational outcomes and life chances of the pupils we serve.

A competitive pension scheme

Non-teaching employees have the opportunity to be part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS)

Teaching staff and Academy Leaders are part of the Teachers Pensions Scheme.

Expenses and travel costs (as appropriate)

We pay staff for incurred expenses and travel costs when asked to work outside of the normal school environment. This is in line with our Staff Expenses Policy.

A generous holiday allowance

When you join STEP as a support staff member on a full time contract, you receive 29 days annual leave in the first instance, plus 8 bank holidays. This then rises to 31 days after 5 years’ service, plus 8 days bank holidays.
